CAL soft tissue augmentation operation and mini CAL

CAL soft tissue augmentation operation is a highly advanced medical technology that extracts the stem cells from the fat from your own body, is mixed with the fat for transplanting, and then injected into the body. It is lipo-transplantation rich with stem cells and compared to the conventional lipo-transplantation, the survival rate of the fat is much higher. Also, by the use of special syringe, the fat is transplanted thoroughly in very small portions all around the breast, making the fat difficult to become lumps. It is a treatment that can make soft and natural breasts.

It is known that very small amount of stem cells are contained inside the liposuctioned fat. The conventional lipo-transplantation uses the fat that has low density of stem cells, and as a result, not much fat survives. It is also known that the volume resulted in the operation is difficult to maintain.

In CAL soft tissue augmentation operation, in addition to extracting the stem cells from the liposuctioned fat, it is also extracted from the liquid part that is obtained during the liposuction process. Because the fat is mixed with many stem cells gathered in such way and then transplanted, the transplanted fat has a high density of stem cells. The transplanted stem cells become new fat cells, blood cells, or guide the making of new blood vessels, and help the fat to survive. Also, when the transplanted fat cells die, the stem cells become the next generation fat cells. That is how the rich, full tissue can be maintained.

Other than the general CAL explained above, there is an operation method named mini CAL that is possible with less amount of liposuction fat. The stem cells are extracted from the liquid part that are obtained during the liposuction, mixed with the fat, and transplanted. It is a medical technology that has lifted up the effect by extracting the stem cells efficiently from limited amount of source. It is an effective method for patients who are slim and have not enough fat, or who would like the recovery hours to be shorter.

Regenerative Capacity of the Patient's Own Cells

Of the 60 trillion cells in a human body, most live and die performing a particular function such as forming part of an internal organ, bone, or a nerve. Only a few among them, however, are special cells called "Stem Cells" that have the potential to become a particular type of cell.

A large number of stem cells exist in adipose tissue. When stem cells are transplanted into different parts of the body, they exist in the new areas as Adipocytes helping to form new blood vessels. As a result, the transplanted fat will survive in the surrounding tissue and become part of that tissue.

Mini CAL

By using the regenerative properties of stem cells, transplanted fat is able to survive and be transplanted at the highest possible rate.

Lipoinjection of CAL Soft Tissue Augmentation Procedure

The fat mixed with stem cells is transplanted evenly by a lipo-transplant injector, in order to avoid the transferred fat from becoming a lump around the injected area. If a large amount of the transplanted cells is injected into one area, necrosis of cells occurs because blood is not supplied to the injected fat. (*3)The CAL soft tissue augmentation procedure transplants about 0.5ml of fat at a time, little by little into a wide area, in order to achieve maximum control of necrosis of cells.

Q14: How long can I keep the implanted silicone bags inside my breasts?
Q1: The sizes of my left and right breasts are different. Can I have the operation?
The CAL tissue augmentation procedure can fine-tune the amount of fat to be transplanted. Therefore even if you have different sized breasts, you can have the operation without feeling any anxiety.
Q2: Are the shapes and the feeling of the breasts natural?
They are natural. Compared with the breasts with artificial fillings, they are far more natural in terms of the shape and the touch.
Q3: Is it possible to augment the breasts that are already saggy?
Possible. By transplanting fat to saggy breasts, the breasts become firm, and the position of nipples, as well as the position of the breasts themselves, lifts up, and thus the downward displacement of the breasts will be improved.
Q4: Will I feel pain? How long does the pain last?
In some cases, pain, similar to the strong muscle pain, may last for a few days to 2 weeks in the liposuctioned area. The lipo-transplanted area might be swollen and cause pain for several weeks.
How long such pain and swelling last varies among individuals, but it will be gradually eased.
Q5: Are there any age restrictions?
People aged 16 years and up can have our procedures, but we require a minor to obtain parental consent.
Q6: Will fat be suctioned as I wish? bullet_top Back to Top
When we perform a liposuction procedure, we take the total balance of your body into consideration. Whether fat can be suctioned as you wish or not depends on your muscle and bone structures as well as the amount of fat you have, and we will judge it on examination.
Q7: Will any scars be left on my body?
In order to insert a tube for liposuction, a minor skin incision will be made in an inconspicuous area by using a scalpel.
It will be 7mm at the longest, but a scar will remain. In many cases, they are inconspicuous.
In the lipo-transplanted area, reddish tiny marks of an injection needle will remain for a while. However it will gradually disappear in about a month. The mark will become a tiny white dot, and it will be inconspicuous.
Q8: How long will it take for me to be able to work after having the operation?
If your job is sedentary, you can work from the next day you have the operation. However, you may have pain that is similar to muscle pain for a few days to two weeks. If your job involves a lot of physical activities, we recommend you to take about a week off from work.
Q9: Will there be any problems when I get pregnant or breast-feed my baby in the future bullet_top Back to Top
No, we don’t think so.
Q10: If I have the operation, will I have difficulties in detecting breast cancer in the future?
In the normal lipo-transplantation procedures, suctioned fat is transplanted in a clump, and therefore, in some cases calcification occurs in the transplanted fat. As this calcification comes out in mammograms, it has been reported that it could be mistakenly recognized as breast cancer.
However, with the advancement of mammography and the improvement of diagnostic techniques of breast surgeons, nowadays it is possible to discern fat calcification and breast cancer on the mammograms, and there are few cases that the patients who had the operation have difficulties in breast cancer detection. As for breast cancer detection, besides mammography, various methods including ultrasound and MRI have been developed, and these methods are being refined each day.
Q11: When calcification occurs, does it have any direct negative influence on the body?
No, it doesn’t have any.
Q12: Can I have an operation for my nipples and areolas? bullet_top Back to Top
Yes. We can do it at the same time with the breast augmentation procedure.
Q13: Even after having stem cells injected into my breasts, will my breasts become smaller as I get older?
After injecting stem cells, the tissue that survives in your breast(s) will become part of your body. Therefore, they will naturally become smaller as you get older. This is very natural development.
On the contrary, in the case of breast augmentation with artificial fillings, such as silicone gel-filled implants, although your body will change with age, those implants will not change. Therefore the shape of the bags will become unnaturally conspicuous, as you get older.
Q14: How long can I keep the implanted silicone bags inside my breasts? bullet_top Back to Top
Generally, if you keep the implanted silicone bags for a certain period of time, a capsule might be generated (the silicone bags are recognized as alien substances inside your body, and the scar tissue or capsule will form around the bags), making the breasts hard to the touch, and in some cases, displacement of the bags or distortion of the breasts also may occur. In addition, as your body becomes thinner with age, the silicone bags will become conspicuous. Therefore there are many people who have had these bags removed.
